South Korean documentary “Old Partner” will be screened in Sala NOT
Documentary Film Academy (Akademia Filmu Dokumentalnego- AFD) invites you for the screening of “Old Partner”- a documentary by South Korean- Lee Chung-ryoul. The film made in 2008, is set in the small rural town in South Korea. It describes the relationship between a 40-year-old cow and an old farmer in his 80s. “Old Partner” also documents the socio-economical and industrial transformation and due to the universal treatment of this subject matter, it appeals to more international and widespread audience.
The film has been nominated for the World Cinema Documentary at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and won the Mecenat Award at the 2008 Pusan International Film Festival and the Audience Award at the 2008 Seoul Independent Film Festival.
After the screening the organizers invite you for the discussion led by Jan Pelczar- a Wrocław based film journalist working for radio RAM. Nicolas Levi- a Ph.D. graduate who runs an internet portal northkorea.pl and visual anthropologist Agnieszka Janiak will also take part in the discussion.
The screening of “Old Partner” will take place in Sala NOT located on 74 Piłsudskiego Street on Thursday the 31st of March at 7 pm. The tickets go for 10 Zloty.
